Confined in Charleston, South Carolina. Escaped October 5, 1864 near Columbia, South Carolina. Recaptured October 16, 1864 in Rutherford, North Carolina. Also confined in Danville, Virginina, and Libby Prison in Richmond, Virginina. Left Richmond prison February 21, 1865.
