Armed Pennsylvania soldier cdv. "Copy shot" of a tin type, some have called this type of image a "dead shot", assuming the soldier was no longer available to photograph.
Too much conjecture for me, all I know is this cdv is of an armed early war private, you can see the circular mat marks on the tin type if you look closely.
