Early cabinet card of the Alamo by M. E. Jacobson, No. 1 from his series Picturesque San Antonio. Image shows the Alamo and the Museum building at left.
A French merchant, Honore Grenet, bought the Long Barrack and courtyard in 1877 and covered it with a wooden structure as part of a museum and grocery store. Hugo and Schmeltzer Co. bought the store in 1884.
Overall good condition with strong tones. Approx. 5.5 x 7.5 inches. Light curl to the mount card, could probably be flattened. Some edgewear and an unfortunate chip at the upper edge (see images).
