Superb US Regular Indian War soldier cdv taken in San Francisco in the late 1860's to the early 1870's.
Tough to say exactly what Infantry unit he belonged to because San Francisco was the center of the universe to both Northwest and Arizona based units for a time. Either way a truly wonderful example of an wary Indian War period soldier cdv.

"I think he may actually be a light artillery man based on his sword. The insignia on his cap may tell us that he was in-between assignments."
