1875 Ft. Brown, TX black soldier nurse document! Private Harvey Howard of Co. "E", 24th U. S. Infantry is due "extra duty" pay while serving as "a nurse in Post Hospital" during April and May, 1875.
Acting Assistant Surgeon T. B. Davis signs the document as "Post Surgeon". Davis was the surgeon who accompanied Emmett Crawford on the Geronimo Campaign in 1886, and he treated the mortally wounded Crawford in the field.
Superb example of a black "Buffalo Solder" nursing document. In fine condition as shown.
