I have had a fascination with the brave men of the late 19th and early 20th century who risked life and limb to explore the Arctic regions, before modern technology and equipment made the task much easier.

Here we have a superb autographed cover of Admiral Richard E. Byrd. "American Antarctic and Arctic explorer, aviator, and navigator. Richard E. Byrd (1888-1957), an American rear admiral, was an Antarctic and Arctic explorer, aviator, and navigator. Between 1928 and 1957, he did more than any other person to direct the exploration of the bleak, frozen continent of Antarctica did.

Signed while in camp at Little America, on January 30th, 1939. In fine condition, opened at top with letter opener. These are found on the web in the $500 range, making this one a bargain!
