"Barnet R. Pearson, was born on July 28, 1868, somewhere along the Oregon Trail. Idaho Bill learned to ride a horse at an early age, having spent his life around horses... He married a woman named Saddie who divorced him after he was accused of killing a man, shooting him thru a window. After being found not guilty of the charge, he moved out west, where he went by the name of Idaho Bill. He was friends with Buffalo Bill & Teddy Roosevelt. He returned to Hastings in later life, and died there in 1942 in a dentist chair..."
